School Guidelines in Borrowing and Returning of Reading Materials
The Hub keeps a master list of all public elementary and high schools in the division for reference. The list includes the names of the school head, the school/teacher-librarian, the learning resource coordinator, or any representative authorized to borrow bins of books for the school.
Through the Library Hub Resource Titles or the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) available at the eLibRO site, the School Head shall prepare a reading material request in advance through the school teacher-librarian in consultation with the subject coordinators/head teachers.
The teacher-librarian records a file copy of all borrowed and returned reading materials from the Hub.
The schedule of borrowing and returning of books is as follows:
BORROWING – Monday to Wednesday 8:00AM – 5:00PM
RETURNING – Thursday to Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Each school is entitled to borrow from the hub a maximum of 15 titles with 45 copies per title per month.
Borrowed reading materials shall be returned after 30 calendar days. However, the renewal of borrowed materials with the same title is allowed for two (2) consecutive times.
Swapping or exchanging of bins, particularly among the neighboring school is strictly not allowed.
The teacher may allow the parents or guardians to take out reading materials for reading enrichment but should be returned within five school days within the 30-day period.
The school head, the classroom teacher concerned, and the teacher-librarian shall be held responsible and accountable for the reading material taken out and not returned within the prescribed period.
The conduct of different reading activities is encouraged such as storytelling, book exhibit, read-a-thon and other related reading activities to achieve the objectives of the Project.
