H.Bautista Elementary School
#464 J. P. Rizal St., Marikina City
History
H. Bautista Elementary School is a Public Elementary School specifically located at corner H. Bautista and J. P. Rizal St., Concepcion Uno in the municipality of Marikina, in the province of NCR Second District, and in the region of NCR - National Capital Region.
The school was established on January 01, 1949. It was named before the late Hermogenes Bautista (H. Bautista) who was a patriot and defender of women’s rights. Born in Marikina on 1866, Bautista was also a revolutionary general. He died on Oct. 17, 1917. Hermogenes organized the Marikina chapter of the KKK (Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan) or simply Katipunan, an organization founded by the Supremo Andres Bonifacio to fight for the independence of the Philippines from the Spanish colonizers. Hermogenes was eventually promoted as General of the Katipunan and when the Philippine Revolution exploded in 1896, his army helped Bonifacio wrest control of San Mateo from the Spaniards, according to an article in the National Commission for Culture and the Arts website.
HBES won’t be on its current state without the wisdom and governance of great leaders. Below is the list of H. Bautista school heads who contributed to the progress of the school in today’s era.
